* Blackstone suggests that you take your puppy to your vet within 48 hours of
leaving our property for a “well puppy” visit.  And we cannot stress enough the
importance of keeping your puppy’s shots up to date.

* Puppies get a little stressed after leaving their Dam and litter mates and will
need time to adjust to their new homes and  families.  Small puppies should be
offered food at least 3 times a day.  If your puppy is not interested in their food we
suggest that you mix a small amount of canned wet food  into their dry food.
* All pups have been getting Diamond small breed puppy food*

* Please remember that you are now raising a Patterdale Terrier and in order for
your dog to be truly happy, you need to provide them with something to
chew on / Play with at all times.  Among other reasons, chewing releases anxiety.
So, rather than your home, furniture, or favorite pair of shoes, keep yourself and
your new dog happy with appropriate chew toys such as rawhide rolls, pig ears,
rope toys, tennis balls and  kong rubber toys.!

* We have found crate training works well for housebreaking. However, you can
not leave your puppy in the crate for long periods of time.  There are many good
books available on the subject of housebreaking in book stores and on the web.

********  If, for any reason, you are unable to care for  your dog please contact
Blackstone Kennels and we will help you find new placement.
